3. Check the Squib_______________
A. Do these steps to check the squib.

WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE SQUIB BEFORE YOU DO THE PROCEDURES FOR DEVICES
_______ THAT ARE SENSITIVE TO ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE. ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE THE FIRE BOTTLE TO RELEASE ITS CONTENTS SUDDENLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Before you touch the squib, do the procedure for devices that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (AMM 20-40-12/201).
(a) If the squib has corrosion on its threads, replace it with a new squib.

Before you touch the squib, do the procedure for devices that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (AMM 20-40-12/201).

Remove the caps and install the squib in the bottle fitting. S 432-010

Tighten the squib to 96 |12 pound-inches. S 432-011
(4)
Install new lockwire.
S 032-020 CAUTION: IF A SHUNT PLUG IS INSTALLED, PULL THE SHUNT PLUG STRAIGHT OFF
_______ THE FIRE BOTTLE SQUIB. IF YOU TWIST OR WIGGLE THE SHUNT PLUG, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SQUIB PINS.

If a protective cover is installed on the squib, remove the protective cover.

If a shunt plug is installed, pull the shunt plug straight off the squib and discard the shunt plug.
NOTE: Shunt plugs should not be used to cover the fire bottle
____ squibs because they can cause damage to the squib pins.

WARNING:_______MAKE SURE THERE IS NO VOLTAGE AT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR. IF THERE IS A VOLTAGE AT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR, THE SQUIB CAN RELEASE ITS CONTENTS SUDDENLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(7) Make sure there is no voltage between pins 1 and 2 of the electrical connector.
NOTE: If you use a voltmeter, connect a 10K ohm resistor across
____ the meter. You should read less than 1 volt.

(8) Make sure the squib electrical pins are not bent or damaged.
(a) Make sure the electrical connector is not damaged.
NOTE: The squib pins can cause damage to the electrical
____ connector if the pins do not enter the connector receptacles.

Connect the electrical connector to the fire bottle squib.

Do the APU fire extinguishing A/T (AMM 26-22-00/501).

Close the access door, 3701.

Close these circuit breakers and remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P6 Load Control Center Panel
1) EXT BOTTLE APU
2) IND LIGHTS (all)

(13) Remove the electrical power if it is no longer required (AMM 24-22-00/201).
