D. Prepare for the test.

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Make sure this circuit breaker on the circuit breaker panel, P18-4, is closed:
(a) PASS AND CREW CALL/LAV SMOKE DETECTOR
E. Do a test of the smoke detection system.

Make smoke adjacent to the lavatory smoke detector.

Make sure these alarm indications occur:
(a) Lavatories: 1) The red alarm light on the smoke detrector comes on. 2) You can hear the smoke detector horn in the lavatory.

(3) Clear the smoke from the lavatory.
NOTE: If the smoke is not cleared from the lavatory within 60
____ seconds, the smoke indications will occur again.

(4) Push the interrupt switch on the smoke detector.
(a) Make sure all external alarm indications stop.

(5) Do the Smoke Test again for each of the other lavatory smoke detectors.
F. Put the airplane back to its usual condition.

1. General
_______
A. This subject has two tasks. The first task removes the lavatory smoke detector and the second task installs it. The removal task and installation task are the same for each smoke detector.

Open the PASS & CREW CALL/LAV SMOKE DETECTOR circuit breaker on the P18-4 panel.

Loosen the two screws on the smoke detector faceplate.
NOTE: The screws are attached to the faceplate and cannot

be removed.

Remove the faceplate from the smoke detector case.

(4)
Remove the two mounting screws which attach the smoke detector case to the ceiling bracket.
(5)
Remove the smoke detector and the ceiling bracket from the ceiling.
