(6) Close the FIRE PROTECTION DETECTION ENG NO. 2 circuit breaker on the P6-2 panel.

Make sure the FAULT light goes off.

Make sure the ENG NO. 2 loop-A and loop-B INOP lights go off.

(7) Hold in the FAULT TEST SW switch on the M279 module.

Make sure the APU DET INOP and FAULT lights on the P8-1 panel come on.

Make sure the five lights on the M279 module come on.

Make sure these lights on the P8-1 panel are off:
1) The FAULT light
2) The APU DET INOP light

Make sure these lights on the P7 panel are off:
1) The two MASTER CAUTION lights
2) The OVHT/DET annunciator

ENGINE FIRE DETECTION SYSTEM DETECTOR - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. Each engine has four Engine Fire Detector Elements; one detector is on the right side of the strut above the fan case, one detector is on the upper left side of the fan case, one detector is on the underside of the fan case, and one detector is around the engine core. You can access the three detectors in the fan area by opening the fan cowl panel, you can access the core detector by opening the fan duct cowl and thrust reviser halves.

Open the FIRE PROTECTION DETECTION ENG NO 1 or ENG NO 2 circuit breaker on the P6 panel.

Open the fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201) or the fan duct cowl and thrust reverser halves (AMM 78-31-00/201).

AIRPLANES WITH PIN-SOCKET CONNECTORS; Remove the electrical connectors from each end of the detector.

Install caps on the electrical connectors.

AIRPLANES WITH TERMINAL LUG CONNECTORS; Remove the nut, washer, and screw from the terminal lug connectors.

Remove the jamnuts from the detector end fittings.

Release the support tube clamps along the length of the detector.

Remove the detector.

NOTE:____Hold the detector when you release the clamps. Do not bend the detector.
