Remove the jamnut from the end fitting at each end of the sensor element and remove the end fitting from the flange fitting.
NOTE: Let the used sensor element stay in its position to aid correct installation of the new element. The rubber bushings can be used on the new element if they are in good condition.

Put covers on the open ends of the end fittings with tape or caps to prevent damage.

Carefully remove the sensor element from below the tubing and brackets.

_______ DO NOT MAKE SERVICEABLE KINKS, BENDS, OR DENTS STRAIGHT. IF YOU MAKE SERVICEABLE KINKS, BENDS, OR DENTS STRAIGHT, DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
(1)
Carefully put the sensor element in its position.
(2)
Remove the caps from the end fittings.
(3)
Loosely install one end fitting in the flange fitting.

(4) S 424-013Bend the sensor element to the contour of the clamps and loosely install the other end fitting.
(5) S 424-014Install the grommets on the sensing element so each is in the center of the mounting clip and the slit of each bushing is on the faces outside of the nearest bend.
(6) S 424-015Install the grommets in each mounting clip.
(7) S 024-016Mounting clips and grommets must attach to the element tightly.
NOTE: If the used sensor element is in its position as a reference,
remove it.

Tighten the jamnuts on the end fittings from 50 to 60 pound-inches.

Use a lockwire on the jamnut-flange fitting and on the end fittings.

Make sure the end fitting hex is in the hex retainer on the flange fitting before you tighten the jamnut.
