 E. Discharge Tube Pressure Test
 S 035-046
 (1)  Disconnect the discharge tubes from the discharge ports on the cargo fire bottle.

 (2)  S 485-047Connect a pressure source to the forward cargo discharge tube.
 (3)  S 485-048Install the plugs on the fire extinguishing nozzles in the forward cargo compartment.
 (4)  S 785-049Pressurize the fire extinguishing tubes to 50-55 psig. (a) Wait a minimum of 3 minutes for the air pressure to become stable.
 (5)  S 785-050Turn off the pressure source. (a) Make a record of the air pressure. (b) Wait 10 minutes, then measure the pressure. 1) Make sure the pressure has not decreased by more than 0.5 psig.
 (6)  S 785-051Bleed the fire extinguishing tubes to 0 psi.
 (7)  S 085-052Disconnect the pressure source from the forward cargo discharge tubes.
 (8)  S 085-053Remove the plugs from the discharge nozzles in the forward cargo compartment.
 (9)  S 485-055Connect a pressure source to the aft cargo discharge tube.

 (10)
 Install the plugs on the fire extinguishing nozzles in the aft cargo compartment.

 S 785-057

 (11)
 Pressurize the fire extinguishing tubes to 50-55 psig.


 (a)  Wait a minimum of 3 minutes for the air pressure to become stable.
 S 785-058
 (12) Turn off the pressure source.
 (a)  
Make a record of the air pressure.

 (b)  
Wait 10 minutes, then measure the pressure.


 1)  Make sure the pressure has not decreased by more than 0.5 psi.

 Bleed the fire extinguishing tubes to 0 psi.

 Disconnect the pressure source from the aft cargo discharge tube.

 Remove the plugs from the discharge nozzles in the aft cargo compartment.

 Connect the discharge tubes to the discharge outlets on the bottle.

 (a)  
Apply a layer of compound, BMS 3-27 to the threads where the tube attaches to the discharge port.

 (b)  
Connect the tube to the discharge port.

 


 NOTE: The yellow tube supplies extinguishant to the
____ forward cargo compartment. The blue tube supplies extinguishant to the aft cargo compartment.
 (c)  
Remove all unwanted compound, BMS 3-27.

 (d)  
Tighten the nut on the tube assembly.


 F. Put the Airplane Back to its Usual Condition

 (1)  
Install the lining at the aft end of the forward cargo compartment.

 (2)  
Close the forward cargo door, 4404R.

 7. Cargo Fire Extinguishing Bottle Squib Circuit Alternate Test

 A. General

 (1)  The squib circuit test should be performed every time the Cargo Fire Control Panel, ir a fire bottle is disconnected from the airplane wiring.
