 G. Do a test of the operation of the APU fire warning system.

 (1)  Try to pull the APU fire switch handle on the Engine and APU Fire Control panel (P8-1).
 (a)  The switch must stay in the locked position.

Push the override button below the APU fire switch.

Pull up on the APU fire switch.


 (a)  The lock should be released and the switch pulled out.

Push the APU fire switch to close.

Hold the TEST switch to the OVHT/FIRE position.


 (a)  Make sure that these indications occur: 1) The two FIRE WARN lights on the P7 panel come on. 2) The lights in the APU fire switch come on.

 NOTE: The results are the same, wether you push the BELL CUTOUT
____ switch, either FIRE WARN switch on the P7 panel, or the HORN CUTOUT switch on the P28 panel.
 (a) Make sure that the fire bell and horn make no sound.
 NOTE: The fire warning light on the APU Ground Contorl Panel,
____ P28, should stay on continuously after the bell and horn stop making noise.

 (b)  Make sure that the FIRE WARN lights on the P7 panel go off.

Release the TEST switch on the P8-1 panel.

Push and hold the AIR SENSING switch on the E11 shelf, or pull down the squat switch at the right main landing gear.


 (a)  Make sure the AIR SENSING ON IN AIR indicator on the E11 shalf. is on.

Make sure the fire warning light in the main wheel well flashes.

Make sure the warning horn for the APU does not make a sound.

 (a)  Make sure the fire warning light in the main wheel well comes on continuously.
