(1) Location Zones # 121 Forward Cargo Compartment - Left # 122 Forward Cargo Compartment - Right # 211 Flight Compartment _ Left # 212 Flight Compartment - Right
Prepare for the Test

(1)
Open the forward cargo door, 4404R.

(2)
Remove the lining at the aft end of the forward cargo compartment to
get access to the fire extinguishing bottle.Cargo Fire Extinguishing Bottle Squib Circuit Test

(1) Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

18B17 CARGO FIRE EXT 1
(b)
18C16 CARGO FIRE FWD DET B
(c)
18C17 CARGO FIRE FWD DET A
(d)
18C18 CARGO FIRE AFT DET B
(e)
18C19 CARGO FIRE AFT DET A

(2) Disconnect the electrical connector from the squibs.
(a)
Disconnect D12794 from bottle 1 to test the forward cargo.
(b)
Disconnect D12796 from bottle 1 to test the aft cargo.

WARNING:_______PUT A PROTECTIVE COVER ON THE SQUIB. IF YOU DO NOT PUT A PROTECTIVE COVER ON THE SQUIB, THE FIRE EXTINGQUISHING BOTTLE CAN RELEASE ITS CONTENTS SUDDENLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.

Install a protective cover on each squib.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:

18B17 CARGO FIRE EXT 1
(b)
18C16 CARGO FIRE FWD DET B
(c)
18C17 CARGO FIRE FWD DET A
(d)
18C18 CARGO FIRE AFT DET B
(e)
18C19 CARGO FIRE AFT DET A
S 715-099
(5) Do a test of the foward cargo fire bottle squib circuit.
(a)
Use a multimeter to do a check for less than 1 VDC between the pins 1 and 3 on connector D12794.
(b)
Push the FWD ARMED switch on the Cargo Fire Control panel.

Push the DISCH switch on the Cargo Fire Control panel.
(d)
Do a check for at least 16 VDC between pins 1 and 3 on connector D12794.

(6) Do a test of the aft cargo fire bottle squib circuit.
(a)
Use a multimeter to do a check for less than 1 VDC between pins 1 and 3 on connector D12796.
(b)
Push the AFT ARMED switch on the Cargo Fire Control panel
(c)
Push the DISCH switch on the Cargo Fire Control panel.
(d)
Do a check for at least 16 VDC between pins 1 and 3 on connector D12794.

(7) Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
18B17 CARGO FORE EXT 1
(b)
18C16 CARGO FIRE FWD DET B
(c)
18C17 CARGO FIRE FWD DET A
(d)
18C18 CARGO FIRE AFT DET B
(e)
18C19 CARGO FIRE AFT DET A

(8)
Remove the protective cover from the squibs.

Connect the electrical connectors to the squibs.
(a)
Connect D12794 to the forward squib M2249 on bottle 1.
(b)
Connect D12796 to the aft squib M2250 on bottle 1.

(10) Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
(a) Circuit Breaker Panel, P18-3:
1) 18B17 CARGO FIRE EXT 1
2) 18C16 CARGO FIRE FWD DET B
3) 18C17 CARGO FIRE FWD DET A
4) 18C18 CARGO FIRE AFT DET B
5) 18C19 CARGO FIRE AFT DET A

(11) Push and hold the TEST switch on the Cargo Fire Control panel.
(a) Make sure the EXT FWD and AFT lights come on.

(12) Release the TEST switch.
E. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition
