 WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE SQUIB BEFORE YOU DO THE PROCEDURES FOR
_______ DEVICES THAT ARE SENSITIVE TO ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE. ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE THE FIRE BOTTLE TO RELEASE ITS CONTENTS SUDDENLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (a)  
Before you touch the squib, do the procedure for devices that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (AMM 20-40-12/201).

 (b)  
Install the squib (1) in the discharge head.

 (c)  
Tighten the squib to 90-100 pound-inches (10-11 Nm).

 (d)  
Remove the protective cover from the squib (1).

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THERE IS NO VOLTAGE AT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR.
_______ IF THERE IS A VOLTAGE AT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR, THE SQUIB CAN RELEASE ITS CONTENTS SUDDENLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
 (e)  Make sure there is no voltage between pins 1 and 2 of the electrical connector.
 NOTE: Connect a 10K ohm resistor across the meter leads to
____ remove all stray voltage from the electrical connector.

 (f)  
Make sure the squib pins are not bent or damaged.

 (g)  
Make sure the electrical connector is not damaged.

 NOTE: The squib pins can cause damage to the connector if the
____ pins do not enter the electrical connector receptacles.
 (h)  Connect the electrical connector to the fire bottle squib (1).
 F. Do a Installation Test of the Squib
 S 864-017
 (1)  
Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 S 864-018

 (2)  
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close this circuit breaker:

 (a)  Circuit Breaker Panel, P6 or P18
 1) LWR CARGO FIRE EXT 1

 S 714-019
 (3) On the cargo fire control panel, push and hold the TEST switch.
 (a)  Make sure the green FWD and AFT EXT lights on the cargo fire control panel come on.

 (4)  Release the TEST switch.
 (a) Make sure the green FWD and AFT squib test lights go off.
 G. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition
 S 414-021
 (1)  
If it was removed, install the air conditioning duct in front of the fire extinguishing bottle.

 (2)
Install the lining at the aft end of the foward cargo compartment.

 (3)  
Close the forward cargo door, 4404R.

Remove the electrical power if it is not necessary
 (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure has tasks to remove and install the components in the cargo fire suppression tubing. These are the tasks:
 (1)  
Nozzle removal

 (2)  
Nozzle installation

 2.  Remove the Cargo Fire Suppression Nozzles (Fig. 401)_________________________________________

 (1)  Location Zones
 208 Forward Cargo Compartment
 218 Aft Cargo Compartment

 B.  Prepare for the Removal
 S 864-002
 (1)  Open this circuit breaker and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
 (a)  Circuit Breaker Panel, P6 or P18
 1) LWR CARGO FIRE EXT BTL 1

 (2)
To access the forward nozzles, open the forward cargo door.
