(4) Remove the jam nut from the fitting at each end of the sensor element and remove the end fitting from the flange fitting.
NOTE: To make the installation of the sensor element easier, you
____ can keep the disconnected element in its approximate position. Let the tubing and brackets in the area hold the element. If the rubber bushings are not damaged, you can keep them to use with the new sensor element.
(a) Put caps or tape on the ends of the fittings.

(5) Carefully remove the sensor element from around the tubing and brackets.
NOTE: Carefully wind the sensor element into a coil approximately
____ four inches in diameter. Use tape to hold it if it is necessary.

CAUTION: DO NOT TWIST, PULL, OR USE FORCE ON THE SENSOR ELEMENT.
_______ DO NOT MAKE THE ELEMENT STRAIGHT IF THERE ARE SATISFACTORY BENDS. ALWAYS WIND OFF THE SENSOR ELEMENT FROM THE COIL. DO NOT PULL THE ELEMENT FROM THE SIDE OF THE COIL. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SENSOR ELEMENT.
(1)
Carefully wind off the sensor element from the coil.

Put the sensor element in its approximate position.

(3) Remove the caps or tape from the end fittings.

(4) Loosely install one end of the element to the flange fitting.

(5) Bend the element to fit in the clamps.

(6) Loosely install the other end of the element to the flange fitting.

(7) Install the rubber bushings on the sensor element.
(a) Make sure the bushings are in the middle of the mounting clips
and the slot points to the outer side of the nearest bend.

(8) Install the bushings tightly in each mounting clip.
NOTE:____ If the used sensor element is still in its position, remove
it.

(9) Tighten the jam nuts on the end fittings from 50 - 60 pound-inches.
NOTE: Make sure that the end fitting hex is in the hex retainer on

the flange fitting.

(10) Attach the jam nut to the flange with a lockwire.
