1. General_______
A. This procedure has these tasks:

An operational test

A test of the squib circuit

A test of the pressure switch circuit

An airflow test through the discharge tubes

A pressure test of the discharge tubes

2. Operational Test
A. Do the operational test.

(1) Push and hold the TEST switch on the Cargo Fire Control panel.
(a) Make sure the FWD EXT and AFT EXT lights come on.
NOTE:____Other indications can occur during this test. The other indications are not important for this test.

(2) Release the TEST switch.

Open the forward cargo door, 4404R.

Remove the lining at the aft end of the forward cargo compartment to get access to the fire extinguishing bottle.
E. Squib Circuit Test
S 035-006
(1) Disconnect the electrical connector from the squibs.
(a)
Disconnect D12794 from the FWD squib, M2249.
(b)
Disconnect D12796 from the AFT squib, M2250.

WARNING:_______PUT A PROTECTIVE COVER ON THE SQUIB. IF YOU DO NOT PUT A PROTECTIVE COVER ON THE SQUIB, THE FIRE EXTINGUISHING BOTTLE CAN RELEASE ITS CONTENTS SUDDENLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.

Install a protective cover on each squib.

Connect the squib connectors to the applicable connectors on the Cargo Fire Extinguishing System Test Box, PN C26006-1.

Set all the switches on the Test Box to NO DISCHARGE.

Make sure all the circuit breakers on the Test Box are closed.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close this circuit breaker:
(a) Circuit Breaker Panel, P6 or P18
1) LWR CARGO FIRE EXT 1

Make sure none of the circuit breakers on the test box open.

Do a test of the forward cargo fire bottle squib circuit.
(a)
Set the EXT 1 FWD switch S3 on the Test Box to DISCHARGE.
