 S 865-158
 (6)  Slowly turn the knobs for loop A and loop B on the test box simultaneously to the fire position.
 (a)  
Make sure that these lights on the P8-1 panel come on. 1) All of the lights in the engine 2 fire switch. 2) The ENG 2 OVERHEAT light.

 (b)  
Make sure all these lights on the P7 panel come on. 1) AIRPLANES WITH OTHER THAN -98 FIRE DETECTION UNIT;

 the two FIRE WARN lights.
 2) The MASTER CAUTION lights.
 3) The OVHT/DET annunciator.


 (c)  
AIRPLANES WITH OTHER THAN -98 FIRE DETECTION UNIT;
 the alarm bell in the control cabin operates.

 CAUTION: DO NOT TURN THE FIRE SWITCH WHILE IT IS IN THE OUT POSITION.
_______ THE CONTENTS OF THE FIRE BOTTLE WILL BE LET OUT.
 (7)  Pull the engine 2 fire switch up.
 NOTE: The switch must be free to move up without the use of the

 override button.

Push in the engine 2 fire switch to close.

Turn the knobs for loop A and loop B on the test box back to the NORMAL position.


 (a)  Make sure these lights on the P8-1 panel go off.
 1) The lights in the engine 2 fire swtich.
 2) The ENG 2 OVERHEAT light.

 Move the switch for loop A on the test box to the GND FAULT position.


 (a)  Make sure the ENGINE 2 INOP-LOOP A light on the M279 module at the E3-3 shelf comes on.

 (a)  Make sure these indications occur: 1) The ENGINE 2 INOP-LOOP B light on the M279 module comes on. 2) The FAULT light on the P8-1 panel comes on.

 (14) Move the switches for loop A and loop B on the test box back to the NORMAL position.
 (a)  Make sure these indications occur: 1) The ENGINE 2 INOP-LOOP A light on the M279 module is off. 2) The ENGINE 2 INOP-LOOP B light on the M279 module is off. 3) The FAULT light on the P8-1 panel is off.

 Open these circuit breakers on the P6 panel:

 Disconnect the test box from the airplane.

 H.  Measure the electrical continuity from the fire detection elements to the airplane ground on engine 2.

 (1)  Connect the multimeter between the outer shell of the upper fan detector element and the airplane ground.
 (a)  Make sure the resistance is less than 1 ohm.
