C. Prepare for the Installation

(1) Make sure that these circuit breakers are open:
(a) Circuit Breaker Panel, P6 or P18
1) FWD CARGO SMOKE DETECTION A
2) FWD CARGO SMOKE DETECTION B
3) AFT CARGO SMOKE DETECTION A
4) AFT CARGO SMOKE DETECTION B

(2) Open the applicable (forward or aft) cargo compartment door.
D. Install the Smoke Detector

(1)
Connect the electrical connector to the smoke detector (2).

(2)
Put the smoke detector (2) in its position in the detector pan assembly.

(3)
Install the screws (5) and washers (4) to hold the smoke detector
(2) in its position.

Put the screen (1) on the cargo ceiling over the smoke detector (2).

Install the screws (3) to hold the screen (1) in its position.
E. Do the Installation Test

(1) Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close this circuit breaker:
(a) Circuit Breaker Panel, P6 or P18
1) FWD CARGO SMOKE DETECTION A
2) FWD CARGO SMOKE DETECTION B
3) AFT CARGO SMOKE DETECTION A
4) AFT CARGO SMOKE DETECTION B
S 714-018
(2) Push the TEST switch on the Cargo Fire Control Panel.
(a)
Make sure the DETECTOR FAULT light stays off.
(b)
Make sure the red FWD and AFT ARM lights come on.
