(14) Calculate the resistance Rc of the squib discharge circuit using this formula:
Rc = RL (V1/V2) - RL

(15) Make sure Rc is equal to or less than 3 ohms.
NOTE: If Rc is more than 3 ohms the circuit can not supply sufficient current to fire the squib cartridge.

Connect the electrical connector D584 for right fire extinguisher bottle squib 1 to the adapter cable for the test box.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
(a)

(18) Turn and hold the fire handle for engine 1 fully clockwise.
(a)
Make sure the BOTTLE DISCHARGE light on the test box come on.
(b)
Write the voltage on the multimeter (V1).

(19) Set the toggle switch on the test box to ON.
(a) Write the voltage on the multimeter as (V2).

(20) Release the handle.
(a)
Make sure the handle moves toward the center about 10 degrees.
(b)
Make sure the multimeter shows 0 |2 volts.

Set the toggle switch on the squib test box to OFF.

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

Disconnect electrical connector D584 from the test box.

(1) Attach the applicable adapter cable to the connector of the squib test box.
NOTE: See the placard on the tester to determine the correct

adapter.
NOTE:____There are two squib circuits for each squib. Salect the squib 2A adapter for pins 3 and 4, and the squib 2B adapter for pins 6 and 7.

(6) Pull the fire handle for engine 2 on the Engine and APU Fire Control Panel, P8-1, to the emergency fire position.
NOTE: To pull the fire handle into the fire position, it is
