Move the TEST switch on the P8-1 panel to the OVHT/FIRE position and hold.

Make sure the indications are as follows:
1) The two FIRE WARN lights come on.
2) The WHEEL WELL light comes on.
3) The alarm bell operates.
(c)
Push the left FIRE WARN light.
(d)
Make sure that the indications are as follows:
1) The alarm bell makes no sound.
2) The two FIRE WARN lights go off.
3) The WHEEL WELL light stays on.

Release the TEST switch.
(f)
Make sure that the indications are as follows:
1) The WHEEL WELL light goes off.

WHEEL WELL OVERHEAT DETECTION SENSING ELEMENT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks. The first task removes the overheat detection sensor element in the wheel well. The second task installs the sensor element.
B. The minimum bend radius for the sensor element is one inch. If it is possible, do not bend the element in a radius less than three inches. Keep the element straight for at least one inch around all connectors and mounting clips. Near the connectors keep the element straight for as long as possible.

B. Procedure

(1) Open this circuit breaker:
(a) P6 Load Control Center Panel
1) OVHT WHL WELL WING BDY
S 034-003
(2) Disconnect the electrical connectors at each end of the sensor element.
(a) Put caps or tape on the open ends of the electrical connectors.
S 034-004
(3) Start at one end and remove the sensor element from each mounting clip.
NOTE: Carefully hold the sensor element so it does not bend.
