 B. FMGC HS EFIS Bus
R  (Ref. Fig. 075) Each FMGC sends one HS EFIS output bus to the 3 DMCs. The DMCs which operate on side 1 work with FMGC1 data, and the DMCs which operate on side 2 use the FMGC 2 data. If one FMGC EFIS bus is no longer valid, the DMC(s) which normally use its data automatically switch over to the EFIS bus of the other FMGC, for instance DMC1 will work with FMGC2 EFIS bus. However, after the second engine start, or when the Captain changes ND mode to ARC or ROSE-NAV mode, or on the ground,if the FMGC1 EFIS bus is seen healthy for more than 3 s. The DMC1 will be forced on the FMGC1 EFIS bus. If the FMGC1 EFIS bus is still found invalid, the DMC1 will resume working with FMGC2 EFIS bus (the same applies to the DMC working on side 2, replacing in the text FMGC1 with FMGC2 and vice-versa, and Captain with F/O). If the EFIS bus of the first FMGC is again valid, the DMC(s) revert to it. If the two FMGC EFIS buses are not valid, the DMC(s) permanently switches from one to the other until finding a valid one. Meanwhile, the amber message MAP NOT AVAIL is displayed on the ND. (If they are in ROSE-NAV or ARC or PLAN modes).
