 (6)
Excessive Vertical Speed (Ref. Fig. 070) item (a) When the vertical speed exceeds +6000 ft/mn or -6000 ft/mn, the digital indication and the analog needle change from green to amber. In addition, those indications change to amber in approach, in the following case:

 -the A/C is within the range : 1000ft to 2500ft (R/A) - -2000ft/mn < V/S < -1200ft/mn

 (7)
Degraded Data (Ref. Fig. 070) item (b) When the source giving the V/S parameter is no more the IR but the ADR, an amber window surrounding the digital value appears cautioning the pilot that this is a degraded data indication.

 (8)
Failure Indication (Ref. Fig. 070) item (c). In case of failure warning, the V/S scale is removed and replaced by a red flag indication.

 (12) Description of the vertical speed scale with TCAS option (resolution advisories present) On the vertical speed scale, the resolution advisories are represented by a band made up of colored sectors:
 -
the red sector represents a vertical speed range to be avoided

 -
the green sector indicates the range the aircraft must fly in to

avoid collision. The corrective resolution advisories are displayed to advise the crew to perform an avoidance maneuver in the vertical sense (climbing, descending, reducing vertical speed in climb or descent phase, etc.).
