According to the selection made through the MCDU, various types of flight plans (active, secondary, temporary, alternate, offset, engine out) with the successive waypoints they link, are also presented, with respect to the display mask.

(b) Active flight plan It is the flight plan which is presently followed by the A/C when the AFS NAV mode is engaged. It is represented by a continuous line in green color. All the displayed waypoints (and their associated identification) are in green color, except the active (or TO) waypoint, which is displayed in white. When the primary flight plan is not active (NAV mode not engaged), it is drawn in green dotted line (item ak).

Any flight plan can become the active flight plan on pilot selection. In this case it replaces the previously active flight plan, and it is then drawn in a green continuous line. (The previously active flight plan is then drawn with a green dotted line).

(Ref. Fig. 042) If the A/C is off the primary flight plan, but is flying towards it to meet the plan and follow it, and if the AFS HDG mode is engaged and NAV armed, the FMGC computes the meeting path: straight line continuing the A/C present track (item ba) followed by the capture ARC (item bb) The meeting path and the remaining part of the flight plan to be overflown are drawn in a green continuous line (item bd) when the part of the flight plan which is before the meeting point is still drawn in green dotted line (item bc).
(d)
Secondary flight plan Green continuous line is used for the segments common with the primary flight plan, and dim white continuous line for the segments which are different.
(e)
Alternate flight plan
It is displayed in cyan dashed line.
(f)
Missed approach It is displayed in a cyan continuous line.
(g)
Temporary flight plan, offset flight plan and EOSID The diversion portions of the flight plan are drawn in yellow color, in dotted line (except for EOSID, in continuous line).

At last, the cross track error information which is the lateral deviation from the flight plan, is indicated in NM beside the A/C symbol, with the letter R (right) or L (left) according to the position of the A/C with respect to the flight plan, when above 0.1NM only.

(3) ABEAM/RADIAL vector By a selection on the MCDU, it is possible to display:
-either the RADIAL of the selected waypoint which is perpendicular
to the present aircraft track (ABEAM) - or the selected RADIAL of the selected waypoint (RADIAL). The ABEAM/RADIAL vectors are displayed in cyan dashed lines. Several of them can be displayed at a time on the ND.
