(2) FMGC - A (guidance part) Each DMC receives and processes both FMGC 1 and 2 'A' buses, and uses them (either 1 or 2) independently for the display of the flight director orders and the flight mode annunciations, according to the engagement status of the FDs and the APs.
(a) Display of the FD or FPD orders The DMCs working on side 1 use the FMGC 1-A bus for the display of the FD orders. If FD 1 fails, or if the FMGC 1-A bus is no longer valid, there is an automatic switching to the FD 2 and the DMC use the FMGC 2-A bus for the display of the FD orders.
NOTE : FD orders means : FD bars (pitch, roll, yaw) or FPD orders
____ related to the Flight Path Vector in TRK/FPA mode.
(b) Display of the Flight Mode Announcements Regarding the FMA, which displays the armed and active modes for the FD, the AP and the A/THR, the DMCs working on side 1 use:
-
FMGC 1-A bus if no AP is engaged or if AP1 is engaged alone or if the 2 APs are engaged (DUAL).
-
FMGC 2-A bus if AP2 is engaged.
If the FMGC 1-A bus is no longer valid, the DMCs read the AP/FD engagement status from the FWCs:
-
If there is no AP engaged, the FMA displays the flight mode annunciations from the FMGC 2-A bus (the CAPT PFD displays the FD 2 orders whatsoever).
-
If the AP 1 is engaged (in this case, the non validity of the FMGC 1-A bus is due most likely to a disconnection of this bus from the DMC). The FMA is blanked.
The same applies to the DMC working on side 2, replacing in the text FMGC 1 with 2 and vice versa.
