(1) Loosen the cable RA [2] and cable RB [1] at the turnbuckles [3].
SUBTASK 27-21-61-020-002
(2) Remove the bolts [9], washers [11], and nuts [12] to remove the cable retainers [10] from the
quadrant [20].

(3) Disconnect the cable RA [2] and cable RB [1] from the quadrant [20].

(4) Remove the nut [15], washer [14], and bolt [13] which connect the control rod [16] to the
quadrant [20].

(5) Remove the rudder aft quadrant:

(a) Remove the bolts [25] and washers [26] which attach the left bearing housing [19] to the
airplane structure.
(b) Slide the quadrant shaft [17] towards the left until the end of the quadrant shaft [17] is clear
of hole in the right side mounting surface.
(c) Remove the left bearing housing [19] and plate [18] from the quadrant shaft [17].
(d) Remove the nuts [7], washers [6], washers [5], bolts [4], and spacers [8] which attach the
quadrant [20] to the quadrant shaft [17].
(e) Remove the quadrant [20] from the quadrant shaft [17].
(f) Remove the quadrant [20], quadrant shaft [17], right bearing housing [27], and plate [18]
from the airplane.
