(6) Do the test of the authority limiter:
(a) Make sure the rudder pedal is in the neutral position.
(b) Keep a record of the amp values from both of the ammeters. These are referred to as Value
1.
(c) Push the captain’s right rudder pedal until it touches the forward quadrant stop and hold.
(d) Keep a record of the amp values from both of the ammeters. These are referred to as Value
2.
(e) Calculate the difference between value 1 and value 2 of system A.
1) Make sure the absolute difference is less than 2.5 amps.
(f) Calculate the difference between value 1 and value 2 of system B.
1) Make sure the absolute difference is less than 2.5 amps.
(g) Engage the authority limiter.
NOTE: The command to engage the authority limiter remains active for only 75 seconds.

1) Push the ON/OFF button on the front panel of the flap/slat electronics unit (FSEU), on E
shelf, to turn on the display.
NOTE: The display will show EXISTING FAULTS?
2) Select OTHER FUNCTNS? from the MAIN MENU on the FSEU. The display will show
SET OUTPUTS?
3) Select SET OUTPUTS? from the OTHER FUNCTNS? menu. The display will show RUD
PRES LIMIT?
4) Select RUD PRES LIMIT? from the SET OUTPUTS? menu. The display will show SET
ON?
5) Select SET ON? from the RUD PRES LIMIT? menu. The display will show CMD ON, SET
OFF?
(h) Keep a record of the amp value from the ammeter for system A only. This is referred to as
Value 3.
(i) Calculate the difference between value 2 and value 3 of system A.
1) Make sure the absolute difference is greater than 0.5 amps.
(j) Release the captain’s right rudder pedal.
(k) Repeat from step (a) using the captain’s left rudder pedal.
