ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SPOILERS, SLATS, AND THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE
QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO
PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Pressurize elevator hydraulic systems A and B. To pressurize them, do this task: Elevator
Hydraulic System A and B - Pressurization, TASK 27-31-00-800-801.

(2) Make sure the flaps are in the full up position.

(3) Make sure the control column is in the neutral position.

E. Operational Test - Elevator Tab Control System
GUN ALL; AIRPLANES WITH THE 10 SECOND TIME DELAY ELEVATOR TAB CONTROL VALVE
SUBTASK 27-31-00-730-014
(1) Do the operational test - elevator tab control system:
(a) Move and hold the control column full aft.
1) Make sure that the elevator tabs move down.
(b) Move and hold the control column full forward.
1) Make sure that the elevator tabs move up.
(c) Release the control column.
(d) Cycle the control column and return it to neutral.

(e) Open this circuit breaker and install safety tag:

(f) Set the flaps to the 5 degree position.
(g) Move and hold the control column full forward.
1) Make sure that the left elevator tab is below the elevator and the right elevator tab is
above the elevator.
(h) Remove the safety tag and close this circuit breaker:

B 8 C01464 FLIGHT CONTROL ELEV TAB VLV RIGHT
1) Make sure there is an 8-12 second time delay before the right elevator tab begins to
move.
(i) Cycle the control column full forward and full aft.
1) Make sure that both elevator tabs move in the same direction as the elevators.

(2) Do an operational test of the elevator control column override:
(a) Override Test of the First Officer’s Control Column:
1) Push the captain’s and first officer’s control columns forward.
2) Hold the captain’s control column forward (against the forward stop).
3) Pull the first officer’s control column aft.
