1) Make sure the left elevator moves 13.16 - 14.87 inches (334.3 - 377.7 mm) up from the
index mark (Figure 523).
(e) Move and hold the captain’s control column forward until it touches the stops.
1) Make sure the left elevator moves 9.90 - 11.08 inches (251.5 - 281.4 mm) down from the
index mark (Figure 523).
(f) Do this task: Put the Elevator Systems A and B Back to the Condition Before the
Pressure Removal, TASK 27-31-00-840-802.

(2) Do the elevator travel limit test with hydraulics on:
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL CONTROL
SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS,
ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SPOILERS, SLATS, AND THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE
QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO
PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a) Pressurize the elevator hydraulic system A. To pressurize it, do the system A portion of this
task: Elevator Hydraulic System A and B - Pressurization, TASK 27-31-00-800-801.
(b) Move and hold the captain’s control column aft until it touches the stops.
1) Make sure the right elevator moves up 13.73 - 14.87 inches (348.7 - 377.7 mm) from the
index mark (Figure 523).
(c) Move and hold the captain’s control column forward until it touches the stops.
1) Make sure the right elevator moves down 10.18 - 11.08 inches (258.6 - 281.4 mm) from
the index mark (Figure 523).
(d) Set the FLT CONTROL B switch on the forward overhead panel, P5, to the ON position.
(e) Set the FLT CONTROL A switch on the forward overhead panel, P5, to the OFF position.
(f) Move and hold the captain’s control column aft until it touches the stops.
1) Make sure the right elevator moves up 13.73 - 14.87 inches (348.7 - 377.7 mm) from the
index mark (Figure 523).
(g) Move and hold the captain’s control column forward until it touches the stops.
1) Make sure the right elevator moves down 10.18 - 11.08 inches (258.6 - 281.4 mm) from
the index mark (Figure 523).
