CAUTION: USE CAUTION WHEN YOU MOVE THE RUDDER. YOU CAN DAMAGE THE CONTROL
ROD IF IT CONTACTS THE VERTICAL STABILIZER.
SUBTASK 27-21-11-860-003
(1) Loosen all the seals at the trailing edge of the fin and move them fully forward.
SUBTASK 27-21-11-080-001
(2) Connect the sling, SPL-2033 to the RUDDER [1] (Figure 401).
SUBTASK 27-21-11-420-001
(3) Do these steps to put the RUDDER [1] in its position and connect the hinges:
(a) Apply a thin layer of grease, D00015 to the smooth surfaces of all the hinge bolts (outer
diameter), bushings (inner diameter), and bearings before you install them.
(b) Put the sling, SPL-2033 in its position and connect it to the RUDDER [1] (Figure 401).
(c) Lift the RUDDER [1] to its position on the vertical fin.
1) Use the ropes to make sure the rudder does not hit the airplane.
