F. Solenoid Valve Removal

(1) Do these steps to remove the solenoid valve [71]:
(a) Remove the bolts [72] that attach the solenoid valve [71] to the main rudder [1].

(b) Remove the seal plate [73].
(c) Remove the O-ring [74]. Discard the O-ring [74].
(d) Remove the solenoid valve [71].
(e) Put plugs on the main rudder PCU ports.

(1) Make sure you remove pressure from the rudder hydraulic systems A and B. To remove it, do
this task: Remove Pressure from the Rudder Hydraulic Systems A, B, and Standby,
TASK 27-21-00-800-802.
F. Solenoid Valve Installation
SUBTASK 27-21-91-020-034-002
(1) Do these steps to install the solenoid valve [71]:
(a) Remove the plugs on the main rudder PCU ports.
(b) Clean the seal plate [73].
(c) Lubricate the new O-ring [74] with fluid, D00153.
(d) Install the new O-ring [74].
(e) Install the seal plate [73].
(f) Install the solenoid valve [71].
(g) Install the bolts [72] that attach the solenoid valve [71] to the main rudder PCU.
(h) Tighten the bolts [72] to 50-70 pound-inches (5.6-7.9 newton-meters).
