SUBTASK 27-21-00-860-090-001
(1) Do this task: Rudder Hydraulic System A, B, or Standby Pressurization,
TASK 27-21-00-800-801.
SUBTASK 27-21-00-730-015-001
(2) Do the captain’s rudder pedal adjustment and the limit travel:
(a) Make sure the rudder trim indicator is at the zero unit of trim.
(b) Do these steps to set the jackshaft yoke to the middle position:
NOTE: The middle position of the jackshaft yoke is where the number of turns of the shaft
from the full forward and full aft adjustment are the same.
1) Turn the rudder pedal adjustment crank to move the rudder pedals full forward.
2) Turn the rudder pedal adjustment crank to move the rudder pedals full aft. Keep a
record of number of turns.
3) Turn the rudder pedal adjustment crank back half of the number of recorded turns to
set the jackshaft yoke to the middle position.
4) Make sure that you can install rig pins R-1 and R-2 easily.
(c) Turn the rudder pedal adjustment crank to move the captain’s pedals full forward.
(d) Push the captain’s left pedal until it touches the stop and hold.

1) Measure the forward travel of the captain’s left pedal from the middle position of the
pedal adjustment.
2) Make sure the forward travel, which measured at the pedal pivot point is at a minimum
of 6.58 in. (167.1 mm).
3) Release the captain’s left pedal.
(e) Move the captain’s right pedal forward until it touches the stop and hold.
1) Measure the forward travel of the captain’s right pedal from the middle position of the
pedal adjustment.
2) Make sure the forward travel, which measured at the pedal pivot point is at a minimum
of 6.58 in. (167.1 mm).
3) Release the captain’s right pedal.
(f) Use the rudder pedal adjustment crank to move the captain’s pedals to full aft position.
(g) Push the captain’s left pedal until it touches the stop and hold.
1) Measure the aft travel of the captain’s right pedal from the middle position of the pedal
adjustment.
2) Make sure the aft travel, which measured at the pedal pivot point is at a minimum of
6.61 in. (167.9 mm).
3) Release the captain’s left pedal.
(h) Move the captain’s right pedal forward until it touches the stop and hold.
1) Measure the aft travel of the captain’s left pedal from the middle position of the pedal
adjustment.
2) Make sure the aft travel, which measured at the pedal pivot point is at a minimum of
6.61 in. (167.9 mm).
3) Release the captain’s right pedal.

(3) Do the first officer’s rudder pedal adjustment and the limit travel:
(a) Make sure the rudder trim indicator is at the zero unit of trim.
(b) Set the pedals to the middle position.
1) Make sure that you can install rig pins R-1 and R-2 easily.
2) Keep a record of this middle position.
(c) Use the rudder pedal adjustment crank to move the first officer’s pedals full forward.
(d) Push the first officer’s left pedal until it touches the stop and hold.
1) Measure the forward travel of the first officer’s left pedal from the middle position of the
pedal adjustment.
2) Make sure the forward travel, which measured at the pedal pivot point is at a minimum
of 6.58 in. (167.1 mm).
3) Release the first officer’s left pedal.
(e) Move the first officer’s right pedal forward until it touches the stop and hold.
1) Measure the forward travel of the first officer’s right pedal from the middle position of
the pedal adjustment.
2) Make sure the forward travel, which measured at the pedal pivot point is at a minimum
of 6.58 in. (167.1 mm).
