WARNING: DO THE STEPS BELOW IF THE AIRPLANE OPERATES AT AIRPORTS WHERE
DEICING FLUID THAT CONTAIN POTASSIUM FORMATE IS USED. ALSO DO THE
STEPS FOR ALL AIRPLANES THAT YOU FOUND CORROSION IN THE
ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS IN THE MAIN WHEEL WELL. THE ELECTRICAL
CONNECTOR IS PART OF A SYSTEM THAT IS NECESSARY FOR SAFE FLIGHT.
(b) If there was corrosion, refer to (SWPM 20-60-03) to correct the problem.
(c) Apply the D5026NS or ZC-026 compound, G50171 to the connector (SWPM 20-60-03).
(d) Connect the electrical connector to the aileron trim actuator [1].

(3) Make sure the captain’s and first officer’s control wheels are in the neutral position.

(4) Remove the rig pin A/S-15, from the rig pin kit, SPL-1585, from the aileron trim mechanism.

(5) Do this task: Put the Aileron Hydraulic Systems A and B Back to the Condition Before

AILERON TRANSFER MECHANISM - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1) A removal of the aileron transfer mechanism
(2) An installation of the aileron transfer mechanism.
B. The aileron transfer mechanism is installed at the base of the first officer’s control column.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THE DOWNLOCK PINS ARE INSTALLED ON ALL THE LANDING GEAR.
WITHOUT THE DOWNLOCK PINS, THE LANDING GEAR COULD RETRACT AND CAUSE
INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Do this task: Remove Pressure from the Aileron Hydraulic Systems A and B,
TASK 27-11-00-860-801.

(3) Put the aileron control wheels in the neutral position.
(a) Make sure that the aileron trim switches are at the zero trim position.
NOTE: The aileron trim switches are installed on the aft electronic control panel, P8 in
the flight compartment.

(4) Install the rig pins A/S-1 and A/S-1A, from the rig pin kit, SPL-1585, in the aileron transfer
mechanism.
(a) Make sure the rig pin A/S-1 is fully installed in the aileron transfer mechanism.
(b) Hold the two rig pins to make sure they do not fall out.

(5) Install the rig pins A/S-3, from the rig pin kit, SPL-1585, in the right shaft of the aileron control
quadrant.

(6) Install the rig pins A/S-4, from the rig pin kit, SPL-1585, in the aileron bus drums.
F. Aileron Transfer Mechanism Removal
SUBTASK 27-11-61-020-001
(1) Disconnect the cable ACBA [1] and ACBB [3] at the cable turnbuckles [2].
(a) Attach identification tags on the disconnected cables for easier assembly.
