RUDDER PEDAL ADJUSTMENT CRANK - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1) A removal of a rudder pedal adjustment crank
(2) An installation of a rudder pedal adjustment crank.
B. The rudder pedal adjustment crank is referred to as the "crank assembly" in this procedure.
C. The crank assembly includes the crank lever [14] and cable [1].
D. The procedure is applicable for the captain’s and first officer’s crank assembly.
E. It is not necessary to remove the cable to remove the crank lever.

(1) Do these steps to remove the crank lever [10]:
(a) Remove the nut [8] and washer [9] from the crank lever [10].
(b) Remove the crank lever [10] from the bearing retainer [12].
(c) Remove the spacer [11].

(2) Do these steps to remove the cable [1] from the crank lever [10]:
(a) Remove the lockwire from the cable retaining nut [13].

(b) Loosen the cable retaining nut [13].
(c) Pull the cable [1] forward until it disconnects from the crank support bracket [7].

(3) Do these steps to disconnect the cable [1] from the rudder jackshaft [4]:
(a) Loosen the retaining nut [3] at the rudder jackshaft [4].
(b) Hold the retaining nut [3] and pull the cable [1] from the rudder jackshaft [4].
(c) Remove the retaining nut [3] and washer [2].

(4) Do these steps to remove the cable [1]:
(a) Remove the bolts [5] from the cable clamps [6].
(b) Remove the cable clamps [6] and keep a record of their locations.
(c) Remove the elastic grommet.
(d) Pull the cable [1] through the grommet hole.
(e) Remove the cable [1].
