(7) Do these steps to set the B dimension:
NOTE: The B dimension is measured between the center of the upper and lower Gimbal pins
on the stabilizer trim jackscrew. To do this, one person must be in the tail of the
airplane with a headset and the other person in the flight compartment.
(a) Turn the stab trim wheel handle on the control stand to set the B dimension.
(b) Use the trammel bar, SPL-1677 to measure the B dimension.
(c) Make sure that the B dimension is 39.89 (±0.01) inches.

(1) Push the INIT REF key on the CDU keyboard.
(a) Push the Line Select Key (LSK) that is adjacent to each selection:
1) INDEX
2) MAINT
3) DFCS

(4) Follow the instructions on the CDU and push the LSK adjacent to <CONTINUE until Test 51.02
MT ACT POS menu shows on the CDU.
NOTE: The DFCS BITE Rigging Test will move the mach trim actuator to the fully extended
position.

(5) Use Test 51.02 and 51.03 to make sure that the MT ACT POS for FCC channel A and B are within
their limits (TASK 22-11-00-820-802).
NOTE: For Tests 51.02 and 51.03, there is no value for the B side; N/A.

(6) Continue with test 51.02 until test 51.03 is displayed.
NOTE: A mach trim actuator position of 0.00 +/- 0.20 should be displayed.

(a) Make sure all hardware is installed and secure.
(b) Check for unusual wear and loose parts at the two connection points of the elevator control
pushrod.
NOTE: Try to wiggle or move connection bolts with hand pressure only.
