G. Elevator Travel Limit Test

CAUTION: DO NOT PUT A LOAD OF MORE THAN 65 POUNDS (289 NEWTONS) ON THE
ELEVATORS AT ONE TIME. IF THE LOAD IS TOO HEAVY, IT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO
THE ELEVATORS.
(1) Do the elevator travel limit test with hydraulics off:

(a) Check for binding at the left and right elevators:
1) Use your hand to move the right elevator through the full travel.
a) Make sure that there is no binding through the full travel.
2) Use your hand to move the left elevator through the full travel.
a) Make sure that there is no binding through the full travel.
(b) Move and hold the captain’s control column aft until it touches the stops.
1) Make sure the right elevator moves 13.16 - 14.87 inches (334.3 - 377.7 mm) up from the
index mark (Figure 523).
(c) Move and hold the captain’s control column forward until it touches the stops.
1) Make sure the right elevator moves 9.90 - 11.08 inches (251.5 - 281.4 mm) down from
the index mark.
