 3)  For normal weather radar operation, the NDs provide the following displays during the EFIS operating modes of expanded APP, VOR, MAP and CTR MAP.
 4)  The selected range and range marks are positioned on the course line. Three range marks are placed on the line at equal distances. Each mark represents one-fourth of the selected range. One-half the selected range (white numerics) is placed beside the center range mark. It equals one-half of the total display range and the range selected on the EFIS control panel.

 (4)  
Auxiliary EICAS Display

 (a)  
The auxiliary EICAS display provides an alternate means of displaying weather radar returns if either the captain's or the first officer's ND is inoperative and the respective display transfer module LWR CRT switch is positioned to ND.

 (b)  
The auxiliary EICAS display is located on the forward electronics control panel P9.

 

 (5)  
Display Transfer Module

 (a)  The captain's and first officer's display transfer module LWR CRT switch provides a means for transfering either pilot's ND displays to the auxiliary EICAS display. The captain's display transfer module is located on the captain's instrument panel (P1). The first officer's display transfer module is located on the first officer's instrument panel (P3).

 (6)  
EICAS Display Select Panel

 (a)  
The STAT button on the EICAS display select panel is used to select the screen on the auxiliary EICAS display that contains the status messages.

 (b)  
The EICAS display select panel is located on the pilots' lightshield.

 


 C. Landing Gear Multiple Use System/Components
 (1)  The component in the landing gear system that interfaces with the weather radar is the air ground relay.
 (a)  
The air/ground relay defines flight segments for the weather radar fault memory.

 (b)  
The air ground relay is located in the left power distribution center panel P414.


 D. Inertial Reference System (IRS)
 (1)  The components of the IRS that interfaces with the weather radar are:
 (a)  
Left inertial reference unit (IRU)

 (b)  
Right inertial reference unit

 (c)  
Center inertial reference unit

 (d)  
Captain's IRS source select switch

 (e)  
First officer's IRS source select switch

The left and center IRUs provide pitch and roll stabilization inputs to the left weather radar R/T.

 (b)  
The right and center IRUs provide pitch and roll stabilization inputs to the right weather radar R/T.

 

 (3)  
Captain's IRS source select switch

 (a)  
The captain's IRS source select switch positions of L and C provide left or center pitch and roll stabilization inputs to the left receiver/transmitter.

 (b)  
The captain's IRS source select switch is located on the source select module on the captain's instrument panel (P1).

 

 (4)  
First Officer's IRS source select switch

 (a)  
The first officer's IRS source select switch positions of R and C provide right or center pitch and roll stabilization inputs to the right receiver/transmitter.

 (b)  
The first officer's IRS source select switch is located on the source select module on the first officer's instrument panel (P3).

 


 E. Flight Management Computer System (FMCS)
 (1)  The components of the FMCS that interface with the weather radar are the left, center and right control display units (CDU's).
