If <RETURN shows after you push the LSK, push the LSK that is adjacent to <RETURN until you see the CMC MENU.

Push the (LSK) that is adjacent to <GROUND TESTS to show the GROUND TESTS menu.
(e)
Push the NEXT PAGE key until you find <34 NAVIGATION RADIOS.
(f)
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <34 NAVIGATION RADIOS to show the GROUND TESTS menu for the navigation radios system.
(g)
Push the NEXT PAGE key until you find <TCAS.
NOTE: If INHIBITED shows above <TCAS, the test will not

operate.
(h) If INHIBITED shows above <TCAS: 1) Push the LSK that is adjacent to the test prompt. 2) Do the steps shown on the CDU.

-SET THE MODE SWITCH
ON THE ATC CONTROL
PANEL TO STBY.
3) Push the LSK that is adjacent to <RETURN to show the ground test menu again.
D. Procedure

(1) Push the LSK that is adjacent to the <TCAS.
(a) When the TEST PRECONDITIONS page shows, make sure each instruction on the page is completed. (Push the NEXT PAGE key to see subsequent pages.)

(2) Push the LSK that is adjacent to START TEST>.
NOTE: IN PROGRESS shows during the test.

(3) While the test is in progress, do these steps:
(a) Make sure these results occur:
1) The Navigation Display (ND) shows the test pattern below (Fig. 501): a) TCAS TEST shows on the left side of the ND. b) TRAFFIC shows on the right side of the ND. c) An R/A (red square) at 3 o'clock, range of 2 miles, 200
feet above and flying level. d) A Traffic Advisory (yellow circle) at 9 o'clock, range of 2 miles, 300 feet below and climbing e) Proximity Traffic (solid white diamond) at 1 o'clock, range 3.6 miles, 1100 feet below and descending.

f) Non-Threat Traffic (open white diamond) at 11 o'clock, range of 3.625 miles, 2000 feet above and flying level.
2) Make sure the Primary Flight Display (PFD) shows the upper pitch cue set to 12 degrees, and lower pitch cue set just below the airplane symbol resolution advisory (Fig. 501).
NOTE: You may see a small offset of the pitch angle due
____ to movement of the airplane.

(4) When IN PROGRESS goes out of view, look for PASS or FAIL> adjacent to <TCAS.
NOTE: If a PASS indication shows, no failures occurred during the

test.
(a) If FAIL> shows: 1) Push the LSK that is adjacent to FAIL> to see the GROUND TEST MSG pages for the failure. 2) Push the NEXT PAGE key until you find all the GROUND TEST MSG pages. 3) Make a list of all CMCS messages, CMCS message numbers and ATA numbers that show on the GROUND TEST MSG pages.
4) Go to the CMCS Message Index of the Fault Isolation Manual (FIM) to find the corrective action for each CMCS message.

Do the self test again with the transponder select switch in the R or 2 position on the control unit.
