F. Audio Test

(1) Do the prepare for the audio test:
(a)
Push the NAV RAD key on the CDU until you find the NAV RADIO page.
(b)
Put a local ILS frequency and a course of 000 degrees into the PRESELECT area of the CDU display.
(c)
Push the LSK that is adjacent to the ILS frequency display.
1) Make sure the PFDs and the NDs show the local ILS frequency.
(d)
Set the voice/range switch on the ACP to R.

(2) Do the audio test for each instrument landing system (L, R, and C):
(a)
Set the ILS channel select on the ACP to L, R, or C.
(b)
Push the volume control switch on the ACP to turn on the flight interphone speakers and headsets.
(c)
Adjust the volume to a nominal level.
1) Make sure you hear the local ILS sound on the flight interphone speakers and headsets.

(3) Remove the electrical power if it is not necessary

3. Ground Test - Instrument Landing System_______________________________________
A. General
(1) The ground test does not use external test equipment and thus it can do a system check quickly. This task uses the central maintenance computer system (CMCS) and the control display unit (CDU) to test the ILS. The results will indicate if the ILS receiver and the ILS data bus operate correctly.

E. Prepare for the Ground Test

(1) Make sure these circuit breakers are closed:
(a) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
1) 7A6 NAV RADIO MMR L
2) 7B17 NAV RADIO MMR R
3) 7B6 NAV RADIO MMR C

(2) Prepare the CDU for the test:
(a)
Push the MENU key on the CDU to show the MENU.
(b)
Push the line select key (LSK) that is adjacent to <CMC to show the CMC MENU.
(c)
If <RETURN shows after you push the LSK, push the LSK that is adjacent to <RETURN until you see the CMC MENU.
(d)
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <GROUND TESTS to show the GROUND TESTS menu.
(e)
Push the NEXT PAGE key until you find <34 NAVIGATION RADIOS.
(f)
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <34 NAVIGATION RADIOS to show the GROUND TESTS menu for the navigation radios systems.
