 A.  PASSENGER AIRPLANES; This subject has two tasks. The first task is for the removal of the weather radar (WXR) waveguide switch (referred to as the waveguide switch) . The second task is for the installation of the waveguide switch . The waveguide switch removal has these parts:
 (1)  
Remove the right WXR receiver/transmitter

 (2)  
Remove the left WXR receiver/transmitter

 (3)  
Remove the WXR R/T mount

 (4)  
Remove the waveguide switch.

 B.  The waveguide switch installation has these parts:
 (1)  
Install the waveguide switch

 (2)  
Install the WXR R/T mount

 (3)  
Install the left WXR receiver/transmitter

 (4)  
Install the right WXR receiver/transmitter

 (5)  
Do a test on the waveguide switch.

 C.  FREIGHTERS; This subject has two tasks. The first task is for the removal of the weather radar (W R) waveguide switch (referred to as the waveguide switch) . The second task is for the installation of the waveguide switch . The waveguide switch removal has these parts:
 (1)  
Get access to the waveguide switch below the floor compartments.

 (2)  
Remove the waveguide switch.

 D.  The waveguide switch installation has these parts:
 (1)  
Install the waveguide switch.

 (2)  
Install the cargo floor panels above the waveguide switch.

 2.  PASSENGER AIRPLANES; Waveguide Switch Removal (Fig. 401)________________________
 A.  General
 (1)  The waveguide switch is installed on the rear of the R/T mount that is attached to the E30 equipment rack (E30 rack). Access to the E30 rack is through the right crawlway forward of the main equipment center.

 (1)  Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
 (a)  
P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) 7C7 WXR L RT
 2) 7C19 WXR R RT

 (b)  
P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
 1) 6K2 MN BAT CONT INVERTER PWR
 2) 6K5 TRU - CONT INVERTER PWR

 (2)  
Open the access door to the 117A electronics compartment to get to the waveguide switch (AMM 06-09-01/201).

 S 014-005

 (3)  
Do this task to remove the left WXR receiver/transmitter from the E30 rack: Weather Radar Receiver/Transmitter Removal (AMM 34-43-02/401).

 (4)  
Do this task to remove the right WXR receiver/transmitter from the E30 rack: Weather Radar Receiver/Transmitter Removal (AMM 34-43-02/401).

 (5)  
Do this task to remove the main static inverter from the E30 rack: Main Static Inverter Installation (AMM 24-29-01/401).

 S 024-009

 (6)  
Remove the waveguide switch:

 (a)  
Disconnect the air hose clamps attached to the R/T mount.

 (b)  
Remove the air hose from the right air inlet on the R/T mount.

 (c)  
Remove the air hose from the left air inlet on the R/T mount.

 (d)  
Disconnect the electrical connector DB139 from the waveguide switch.
