STATIC INVERTER/ILS PROCESSOR - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks. The first task is for the removal of the static inverter/ILS processor. The second task is for the installation of the inverter/ILS processor.
B. The B339 static inverter/ILS processor is installed in the main equipment center on shelf No. 3 of the E1 electronics equipment rack.

C. Remove the Static Inverter/ILS Processor

(1) Open these circuit breakers and attach the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
1) 7A6 NAV RADIO ILS L
2) 7B24 STBY INSTR ILS IND
3) 7B25 STBY INSTR ATTD IND

(2) Open the 117AL access door to the electronics compartment to get to the static inverter/ILS processor (AMM 06-09-01/201).

CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE STATIC INVERTER/ILS PROCESSOR BEFORE YOU
_______ CONNECT THE GROUND STRAP BETWEEN YOUR WRIST AND THE ELECTROSTATIC GROUND JACK. ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE STATIC INVERTER/ILS PROCESSOR.
(3) Remove the static inverter/ILS processor (AMM 20-11-22/401).

(1) Make sure these circuit breakers are open with the DO-NOT-CLOSE-TAGS attached:
(a) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
1) 7A6 NAV RADIO ILS L
2) 7B24 STBY INSTR ILS IND
3) 7B25 STBY INSTR ATTD IND

CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE STATIC INVERTER/ILS PROCESSOR BEFORE YOU
_______ CONNECT THE GROUND STRAP BETWEEN YOUR WRIST AND THE ELECTROSTATIC GROUND JACK. ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE STATIC INVERTER/ILS PROCESSOR.

Install the static inverter/ILS processor (AMM 20-11-22/401).

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
(a) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
1) 7A6 NAV RADIO ILS L
2) 7B24 STBY INSTR ILS IND
3) 7B25 STBY INSTR ATTD IND

Supply the electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

(5)
Do a test of the static inverter/ILS processor:
(a)
Tune to an ILS frequency (AMM 34-31-00/501).
(b)
Set the mode selector switch on the standby attitude/ILS indicator to APP.
(c)
Do a left ILS receiver self-test (AMM 34-31-00/501)
(d)
Make sure the conditions that follow occur on the standby attitude/ILS indicator: 1) G/P and LAT flags show for approximately 3 seconds. 2) G/P and LAT flags retract from view for approximately 2
