C. The front panel of the R/T has a liquid crystal display (LCD) that is used to show test and fault status messages. (See Fig. 1). The LCD display is controlled by two pushbuttons located below the display. The pushbuttons are used for test and fault isolation functions. If there are no faults the LCD will show these messages.

4. R/T Mount_________
A. The R/T mounts provide the rf waveguide interconnect between the R/T and the antenna and wiring connections between various system components. The two single R/T mounts are located below the floor compartment of the nose cargo door section.
B. The R/T mount has two air conditioning ducts that receive airplane conditioned air to cool the R/Ts. A filter at each air inlet provides filtering for the cool air before it is sent to each receiver/transmitter.
5. Waveguide_________
A. The x-band waveguide connects the selected R/T from the waveguide switch to the antenna. A flexible waveguide section is connected to the waveguide switch and then rigid sections extend forward and pass through the pressure seal into the nose radome area. In the unpressurized nose radome the rigid waveguide is connected to a bottom-mounted waveguide flange on the antenna.
B. Waveguide section 2 has a drain hole to allow moisture to go out of the waveguide run from the antenna to the receiver/transmitter. The drain hole is located on the bottom side of waveguide section 2 just aft of the pressure seal on the forward pressure bulkhead.
6. Waveguide Switch________________
A. An rf waveguide switch connects the two R/T unit waveguides to the antenna waveguide. The waveguide switch is controlled by the system transfer switch on the control panel.
B. The waveguide switch is not part of the R/T mount and is mounted to an airplane floor compartment beam.
