 2.  Radio Altimeter Antenna Removal (Fig. 401)_______________________________
 A.  General
 (1)  The removal procedure for all the antennas is the same.

 (1) Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
 (a)  P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) 7B3 LEFT RADIO ALTM
 2) 7B4 CENTER RAD ALTM
 3) 7C21 RIGHT RAD ALTIM

 (2)  Remove the radio altimeter antenna:
 (a)  
Remove the four screws that attach the antenna to the fuselage fairing.

 CAUTION:_______BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE THE SEALANT REMOVAL TOOL. TOO MUCH FORCE ON THE TOOL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE METAL FLAME-SPRAY SURFACE ON THE FAIRING.

 (b)  
Put the sealant removal tool between the antenna and the fairing surface.

 (c)  
Push the sealant removal tool around the antenna until you loosen the antenna from the fairing.


 CAUTION: YOU CAN DAMAGE THE COAXIAL CABLE CONNECTED TO THE ANTENNA
_______ IF YOU USE TOO MUCH FORCE TO RELEASE THE ANTENNA FROM THE FAIRING.
 (d)  
Carefully lower the antenna until you see the coaxial cable attached to the antenna.

 (e)  
Disconnect the coaxial cable from the antenna.


 NOTE: If you remove more than one antenna, identify the
____ antenna cables with tags.
 (f)  
Remove the antenna.

 (g)  
Remove the O-ring (if installed) between the antenna and the fairing.

 3. Radio Altimeter Antenna Installation (Fig. 401)

 A. General
 (1)  
This procedure installs the antenna and includes a test of the bond resistance between the antenna and the fairing.
