 2) Set the TILT control on the WXR control panel.
Set the gain control on the WXR control panel as follows:
 1) Turn the GAIN control counterclockwise to the AUTO

 position. a) Make sure the intensity of radar targets decrease on the NDs. 2) Turn the GAIN control clockwise to the MAX position. a) Make sure the intensity of the radar targets increase on the NDs. 3) Set the GAIN control to the AUTO position. a) Make sure the blue VAR message on each of the NDs does
 not show.Set the SYS switch on the WXR control panel to the R position.Set the GAIN control on the WXR control panel out of the AUTO position.Set the mode selector switch on the WXR control panel as shown below. 1) Make sure the blue VAR gain message on the NDs show for
 these modes.

Set the mode selector switch on the WXR control panel to the
 MAP position.
Set the controls to get the best possible radar targets as
 follows:
 1) Set the range switch on the EFIS control panel.
 2) Set the TILT control on the WXR control panel.
Set the gain control on the WXR control panel as follows:
 1) Turn the GAIN control counterclockwise to the AUTO

 position. a) Make sure the intensity of radar targets decrease on the NDs.

 (l)  If no more tests of the weather radar are necessary, Do the Weather Radar System Shutdown Task.
 L. Antenna Tilt Test
 NOTE: On freighter airplanes incorrect test results will occur when

 the nose cargo door is in the open position.

Make sure you do the prepare to do the system test before the antenna tilt test is started.

Do a weather radar antenna tilt test.


 WARNING: DO NOT OPERATE THE WEATHER RADAR WHILE FUEL IS ADDED OR
_______ REMOVED FROM THE AIRPLANE. DO NOT TRANSMIT RF ENERGY WHILE FUEL IS ADDED OR REMOVED IN AN AREA 200 FEET OR LESS OF THE ANTENNA. THIS CAN CAUSE AN EXPLOSION.
 DO NOT OPERATE THE WEATHER RADAR IN A HANGAR OR OTHER ENCLOSURE. MAKE SURE NO PERSONS ARE IN THE AREA 15 FEET OR LESS FROM THE ANTENNA WHEN IT TRANSMITS RF ENERGY. RF ENERGY CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
 (a)  Set the controls and switches on the WXR control panel as follows: 1) Make sure the TILT mode select switch is in the MAN
 position. 2) Set the mode selector to the WX position. 3) Turn the antenna TILT control in steps from 0 to plus
 15.0(x) degrees.
 a) Make sure the tilt messages are as follows:

 1. The ND tilt message must read tilt angle | 1
_ degree.

 4)  Turn the TILT control in steps from 0 to minus 15.0(x) degrees. a) Make sure the tilt messages are as follows:
 1.  The ND tilt message must read tilt angle | 1

 degree. 5) Turn the TILT control to 0 degree. 6) Turn the antenna tilt control to -4 degrees.
 a)  Make sure the intensity of the targets near the
 airplane increase. 7) Turn the TILT control to 0 degree. 8) Set the TILT mode select switch to AUTO.
 a)  Make sure the AUTOTILT FAIL status message does not appear on the Capt or F/O Nav displays.
