 to an unfilled one when the deviation is off scale. 2) The deviation pointer is removed during a back course
 approach.For ILS deviation NCD, the frequency/identifier display is removed and the pointer for the failing channel (LOC or G/S) is removed.For ILS frequency NCD, the pointers and scales for localizer and glide slope are removed. No flags are displayed.For ILS invalid data, the frequency/identifier display is removed and the pointer and scale for the invalid channel (LOC or G/S) are removed. The corresponding flag (LOC or G/S) is displayed.

 (2)  ND ILS displays
 (a)  
ILS displays on the ND consist of an alphanumeric display of the tuned frequency or ground station identifier, a system source annunciator, a localizer deviation scale and pointer, and a glide slope deviation scale and pointer.

 (b)  
The tuned frequency is displayed in white characters in the upper right corner of the display. If a valid 4-letter identifier exists, it is displayed instead of the frequency.

 (c)  
The system source annunciation (ILS L, ILS R, or ILS C) is displayed in green characters in the upper right corner of the display, just to the left of the frequency display.

 (d)  
Localizer deviation is displayed by a white, four-dot deviation scale and unfilled magenta deviation pointer. The scale is displayed perpendicular to the course arrow and the deviation pointer lines up with the course arrow when there is no deviation.

 (e)  
Glide slope deviation is displayed by a white, four-dot deviation scale and unfilled magenta diamond deviation pointer located on the right side of the display. The pointer is removed during a back course approach.

 (f)  
For ILS deviation NCD, the frequency/identifier display is replaced by six green dashes, and the pointer for the failing channel (LOC or G/S) is removed.

 (g)  
For ILS invalid data, the frequency/identifier display is removed, and the pointer and scale for the invalid channel (LOC or G/S) are removed. The corresponding flag (LOC or G/S) is displayed.

 (3)  EICAS ILS displays
 (a)  EICAS caution messages are displayed in yellow in the upper right corner of the main EICAS display. EICAS status messages are displayed in white in the lower left corner of the auxiliary EICAS display when the status screen is selected. EICAS messages applicable to the ILS are described in Table 2.
