5. FREIGHTERS; Weather Radar Waveguide Installation (Fig. 401A)____________________________________
A. General
(1) The waveguide switch is attached to the waveguide switch support below the floor compartment between station 180 and 200. To install the waveguide switch you must electrically and mechanically connect it.

D. Procedure

(1) Make sure these circuit breakers are open with DO-NOT-CLOSE tags attached:
(a) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
1) 7C7 WXR L RT
2) 7C19 WXR R RT

(2) Get access to the waveguide switch below the compartment floor.
(a)
Release the 18 fasteners that hold the cargo floor panel.
(b)
Remove the cargo floor panel.

Remove the covers from the electrical connectors.

Remove the dust cap from the left and right feeder waveguides.

Install the waveguide switch:
NOTE: Replace the waveguide gaskets when they are defective.

CAUTION: BE CAREFUL TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE WAVEGUIDE SWITCH
_______ WHEN THE SCREWS ARE TIGHTENED. IF YOU TIGHTEN THE SCREWS TOO MUCH, DAMAGE TO THE WAVEGUIDE SWITCH CAN OCCUR.
(a) Hold the waveguide switch and install the four screws and lockwashers in waveguide section 4 that mates with the waveguide switch.
NOTE: The screws go through the holes in the waveguide switch

support into the waveguide switch.
(b)
Install the four screws and washers and a gasket to attach the left feeder waveguide to the waveguide switch.
(c)
Install the four screws and washers and a gasket to attach the right feeder waveguide to the waveguide switch.
(d)
Connect the electrial connector DB139 to the waveguide switch.
(e)
Make sure the R/T mount wire bundle is not damaged and is correctly attached to the R/T mount and E5-1 or E5-2 shelf assemblies.

(3) S 714-067Do this task to test the waveguide switch: Adjustment/Test (AMM 34-43-00/501). Weather Radar System -
(4) S 414-070PASSENGER AIRPLANES; Close the access door to the 117A electronic compartment (AMM 06-09-01/201).
(5) S 424-081FREIGHTERS; Install the floor cargo panels on the floor beams above the receiver/transmitters. (a) Put the center cargo floor panel on the floor beams. (b) Tighten the 18 fasteners that hold the floor panel.
