WEATHER RADAR ANTENNA - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1)
Weather radar antenna removal.
(2)
Weather radar antenna planar array removal.
(3)
Weather radar antenna drive assembly removal.
(4)
Weather radar antenna installation.
(5)
Weather radar antenna planar array installation.
(6)
Weather radar antenna drive assembly installation.
B. This subject has six tasks which include three removal and three installation tasks. Removal tasks include the removal of the antenna, antenna array and antenna drive assembly. The installation tasks include the installation of the antenna, antenna planar array and antenna drive assembly. The antenna removal task has these parts:
(1)
Open the nose radome
(2)
Remove the antenna.
C. The removal task for the antenna planar array has these parts:
(1)
Open the nose radome
(2)
Remove the antenna array.
D. The removal task for the antenna drive assembly has these parts:
(1)
Open the nose radome
(2)
Remove the antenna array
(3)
Remove the antenna drive assembly.
E. The installation task for the antenna has these parts:
(1)
Install the antenna
(2)
Do a weather radar (WXR) system test
(3)
Close the nose radome.
F. The installation task for the antenna planar array has these parts:
(1)
Install the antenna planar array
(2)
Do a WXR operational test
(3)
Close the nose radome.
G. The installation task for the antenna drive assembly has these parts:
(1)
Install the antenna drive assembly
(2)
Install the antenna planar array
(3)
Do a WXR system test
(4)
Close the nose radome.

_______ BE CAREFUL TO CONTROL THE WORKSTAND AND EQUIPMENT. THE WORKSTAND OR OTHER EQUIPMENT COULD CAUSE DAMAGE THE LOCALIZER ANTENNA OR OTHER RADOME EQUIPMENT.
DO NOT USE THE LOCALIZER ANTENNA AS A SUPPORT. DAMAGE TO THE LOCALIZER ANTENNA WILL OCCUR.
