4) Install the pins [22] in the nuts [23].

(2) Connect the inboard and outboard aft flap pushrods [11]:
(a) Carefully pull the aft flap pushrods [11] through the cutouts to move them to the extended
position.
NOTE: The crankshaft [3] will move when you pull on the aft flap pushrod [11].
(b) Install the bushings [13], bolts [14], washers [15], washers [17], and nuts [18] that attach the
aft flap pushrods [11] to the aft flap assembly [2].
(c) Tighten the nuts [18] to 50-80 pound-inches (5.6 to 9.0 newton-meters).
(d) Install the pins [19] in the nuts [18].

(3) Use the crankshaft [3] to manually move the aft flap assembly [2] to the retracted position.
G. Inboard Aft Flap Adjustment

(1) Install the rig pin in the crankshaft [3].

(2) Measure the distance between the trailing edge of the aft flap assembly [2] and the trailing edge
of the upper cove panel [61] on the main flap [1] (Figure 402).
NOTE: Measure the distance aft of the inboard and outboard aft flap pushrods [11].
(a) At the outboard pushrod [11], make sure the distance is 9.2745 ±0.0600 inches (235.57
±1.52 millimeters).
(b) At the inboard pushrod [11], make sure the distance is 9.2319 ±0.0600 inches (234.49
±1.52 millimeters).

(3) If the distance at the inboard or outboard pushrod [11] is not in the limit, then adjust the length of
the applicable aft flap pushrod [11] (Figure 401):
(a) Remove the rig pin from the crankshaft [3].

(b) Use the crankshaft [3] to manually extend the aft flap assembly [2] to the extended position.
(c) Adjust the length of the applicable aft flap pushrod [11]:
NOTE: For each 90 degree turn of the aft flap pushrod [11], the trailing edge of the aft flap
will move 0.04 inches (1.02 millimeters)
1) Loosen the nuts [20] on the aft flap pushrod [11].
2) Adjust the length of the aft flap pushrod [11].
3) Apply a thin layer of compound, C00913 to the threads of the rod ends [16].
4) Tighten the nuts [20].
5) Install lockwire on the nuts [20] and the locking keys [12].
(d) Use the crankshaft [3] to manually retract the aft flap assembly [2] to the retracted position.
(e) Install the rig pin in the crankshaft [3].
(f) Make sure the distance from the trailing edge of the aft flap assembly [2] to the trailing
edge of the upper cove panel [61] is in the limit.

(4) Support the aft flap assembly [2] to make sure the programming rollers [28] touch the bottom
surface of the programming tracks [38] and the aft rollers for the aft flap tracks [21] touch the top
surface of the tracks.
NOTE: This is the position the rollers will be in with airloads applied to the aft flap assembly [2].

(5) At the outboard end of the aft flap assembly [2], measure the vertical alignment at the trailing
edge of the aft flap assembly [2] and the main flap [1] (Figure 402).

(6) If the vertical alignment of the trailing edge is not in the limit of 0.000 ±0.100 inch (0.000 ±2.54
millimeters), then adjust the rollers [28] for the inboard and outboard programming tracks [38]
(Figure 401):
NOTE: Make sure you keep the two rollers [28] adjusted to the same position.
(a) Remove the rig pin from the crankshaft [3].
(b) Use the crankshaft [3] to manually extend the aft flap assembly [2] to the extended position.
(c) Adjust the position of the rollers [28]:
1) Remove the nut [34], washer [35] and retainer plate [30] that hold the eccentric bushing
[29].
2) Loosen the nut [33] on the roller [28].
3) Turn the eccentric bushing [29] to adjust the position of the roller [28].
NOTE: Refer to (Table 401) to determine how far you must turn the eccentric
bushing [29].
