Stabilizer Ball Nut and Jackscrew Gearbox Installation, TASK 27-41-81-400-801.

(1) Remove the stabilizer ball nut and jackscrew gearbox. To remove it, do this task: Stabilizer Ball
Nut and Jackscrew Gearbox Removal, TASK 27-41-81-000-801.

(2) Examine the parts of the lower and upper gimbals for worn areas:
(a) Remove the parts to be checked.
(b) Measure the parts as necessary with a micrometer (0-1 Inch, readable to 1/1000 Inch),
STD-1096 or a readable to 1/1000 inch vernier 0 - 6 inch caliper, STD-1097.
(c) Compare the dimensions you measured with the permitted wear dimensions from
(Table 601).
(d) If the parts are not in the tolerance, replace or repair the parts as required.
