E. Prepare for the Installation
SUBTASK 27-51-12-820-001
(1) If you will not install the same aft flap assembly [2] and main flap [1], make sure the inboard and
outboard rollers [28] are in the most forward position (Figure 401):
NOTE: With the rollers [28] in the most forward position, the slot in the eccentric bushing [29]
will align with the index mark on the retainer plate [30].
(a) Remove the nut [34], washer [35] and retainer plate [30] that hold the eccentric bushing
[29].
(b) Loosen the nut [33] on the roller [28].
(c) Turn the eccentric bushing [29] until the roller [28] is in the forward position and the slot
aligns with the bolt [36].
NOTE: The bolt [36] will stay in its position.
(d) Apply sealant, A00247 to the threads of the bolt [36].
(e) Install the retainer plate [30] with the washer [35] and nut [34].
(f) Tighten the nut [33] on the roller [28] to 95-110 pound-inches.

(2) Make sure the aft flap tracks are installed on the main flap [1] and are in the retracted position. If
they are not installed, do this task: Inboard Aft Flap Track Installation, TASK 27-51-16-400-801.
F. Inboard Aft Flap Installation
SUBTASK 27-51-12-420-002
(1) Install the aft flap assembly [2]:
(a) Hold the aft flap assembly [2] below and approximately perpendicular to the main flap [1].
(b) Engage the outboard roller [28] with the outboard programming track [38].
(c) Engage the inboard roller [28] with the inboard programming track [38].
(d) Lift the trailing edge of the aft flap assembly [2] and hold it in its usual position.
(e) Connect the aft flap assembly [2] to the aft flap tracks [21]:
1) Move the aft flap tracks [21] aft until they align with the aft flap assembly [2].
2) Install the bushings [25], bolts [27], washers [26], washers [24] and nuts [23] that attach
the aft flap tracks [21] to the aft flap assembly [2].
3) Tighten the nuts [23] to 100-150 pound-inches 11.3 to 16.9 newton-meters).
