G. Prepare for the Installation
SUBTASK 27-51-11-820-001
(1) Make sure the carriage roller cartridges are in the correct position (Figure 403):
NOTE: If you will install a different inboard flap assembly [1] than the one you removed, make
sure the carriage roller cartridges are in the same position as the flap you removed.
NOTE: If you did not record the position of the carriage roller from the flap you removed, then
adjust the carriage roller cartridges to the nominal position. The nominal position for
the carriage roller cartridges is -45 degrees for the left wing, and +30 for the right
wing.
NOTE: There is no mismatch or alignment dimension to the fixed structure or the outboard flap
that the flap is adjusted to meet. The carriage roller cartridges can be changed from the
nominal position to meet lateral trim tolerances.
NOTE: Make sure the carriage roller cartridge [116] and cartridge [125] for the inboard flap
assembly [1] are in the same position.
(a) If it is necessary, adjust the cartridges [125] on the inboard carriage [52]:
1) Loosen the nut [127] on the roller [123].
2) Turn the eccentric bushing [115] until the index mark [120] is in the correct position.
3) Tighten the nut [127] to 160-975 pound-inches (18.1-110.1 newton-meters).
4) Install the pin [126] in the nut [127].
