NOTE: The flap retraction is controlled by a limit switch.
(f) Make sure the pointers on the flap position indicator are in the UP white band.
(g) Release the ALTERNATE FLAPS CONTROL switch to let it move to the OFF position.
(h) Move the ALTERNATE FLAPS CONTROL switch to the DOWN position and hold it until the
trailing edge flaps are in the 40-unit position.
NOTE: Look at the flap position indicators to find the position of the flaps.
(i) Move the ALTERNATE FLAPS ARM switch to the OFF position.

(3) Move the flap control lever to the UP position and wait for the flaps to reach the UP position.
(a) Make sure the pointers on the flap position indicator are in the UP white band.
F. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

3. Trailing Edge Flap Control System Adjustment
(Figure 502)
A. General
(1) This task does an adjustment of the trailing edge flap control system.
(a) The trailing edge flap control system includes the flap control lever, the flap control unit, the
flap control valve, the control cables WFA and WFB, and the follow-up cables WFFA and
WFFB.
(2) When you retract the trailing edge flaps with hydraulic power, it is necessary to stop for two
minutes after you move the flaps. The flaps can move a small distance for 2 minutes after
extension or retraction.
(3) The adjustment instructions included in this task are included in the Flap Actuation Rigging
Instructions drawing 256A3001.
