(b) Set the flaps to the full up position.
1) Push and hold the stabilizer trim control switches on the captain’s control wheel to the

a) Make sure the stabilizer leading edge moves down.

position and then to the NOSE DOWN position.

a) Make sure the time for the stabilizer to move from its lower limit of travel to the
upper limit of travel is 46-56 seconds.

b) Make sure the time for the stabilizer to move from its lower limit of travel to the
upper limit of travel is 47-58 seconds.

c) Make sure the operation is smooth and there is no unusual noise.

8) Push and hold the stabilizer trim control switches on the captain’s control wheel to the
NOSE DOWN position until the system comes to full trim speed.
a) Release the stabilizer trim control switches. Make sure the stabilizer trim wheel
moves not more than 0.5 turns (180 degrees).

STABILIZER BALL NUT AND JACKSCREW GEARBOX - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1) A removal of the primary stabilizer ball nut and jackscrew gearbox
(2) An installation of the stabilizer ball nut and jackscrew gearbox.
B. The stabilizer ball nut and jackscrew gearbox is referred to as the "stabilizer trim actuator" in this
