(9) Use a multimeter, STD-1231 to measure the voltage on connector D700 between pin 8 and the
surrounding structure.
(a) Make sure that the voltage on pin 8 is less than 2 VAC.

(10) Move the stab trim switches on the control wheel to the NOSE UP position and hold.
NOTE: The same stab trim switches (captain’s or first officer’s) should be used during this
procedure.

surrounding structure.
(a) Make sure that the voltage on pin 6 is less than 2 VAC.

(15) Release the stab trim switches.

(16) Connect the D700 connector to the stabilizer trim motor M1659, (Figure 501).

(17) Connect the D40616 connector on the Forward Nose Wheel Well Panel (114AW), to the J4
junction box.

(18) Clear the internal monitoring faults of the stabilizer trim motor, if any, by doing the following
steps:
(a) Open this circuit breaker:

(b) Wait a minimum of 5 seconds.
(c) Close this circuit breaker:

(20) Do a test of the high (flaps down) stabilizer trim rate:
(a) Move the stab trim switches on the control wheel to the NOSE UP (stabilizer leading edge
down) position and hold until the stabilizer stops.
(b) Do the following to measure the time it takes for the stabilizer to move from the leading
edge down position to the leading edge up position:

1) Move the stab trim switches on the control wheel to the NOSE DOWN position and hold
until the stabilizer stops.
2) Make sure that the time from the start to stop of stabilizer movement is between 31 and
39 seconds.

(21) Do this task: Retract the Trailing Edge Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-804.

(22) Move the stabilizer to 4 units of trim, or more.

(23) Do a test of the low (flaps up) stabilizer trim rate:
(a) Move the stab trim switches on the control wheel to the NOSE DOWN (stabilizer leading
edge up) position and hold until the stabilizer stops.
(b) Do the following to measure the time it takes for the stabilizer to move from the leading
edge up position to the leading edge down position:
1) Move the stab trim switches on the control wheel to the NOSE UP position and hold
until the stabilizer stops.
2) Make sure that the time from the start to stop of stabilizer movement is between 46 and
56 seconds.
G. Restore the Airplane to Normal
