FLAP CONTROL LEVER POSITION SENSOR - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES
1. General
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1) A removal of the flap control lever position sensor
(2) An installation of the flap control lever position sensor
(3) An adjustment of the flap control lever position sensor
(4) An system test of the flap control lever position sensor
(5) A detailed visual inspection of the flap control lever sensor, linkage and rod ends.
B. The flap control lever position sensor is installed in the control stand and operates from the flap
control lever.

2. Flap Control Lever Position Sensor Removal

(1) Open this circuit breaker and install safety tag:

(2) Remove the side cover [3] from the lower right side of the control stand [7]:
(a) Remove the screws [5] and the pocket assembly [6] from the side cover [3].
(b) Loosen the two lower screws [8] for the upper side cover [1] on the right side of the control
stand [7].
(c) Remove the screws [4] that attach the lower side cover [3] to the control stand [7].
(d) Remove the lower side cover [3] from the control stand [7].
NOTE: It is necessary to move the lower side cover [3] down, away from the upper side
cover [1].
C. Flap Control Lever Position Sensor Removal

(1) Disconnect the electrical connector [9] for the flap control lever position sensor [20].

(2) Remove the flap control lever position sensor assembly [2]:
NOTE: The position sensor assembly [2] includes the position sensor [20], bracket
assembly [23], bracket [24] and the crank [18].

(a) Remove the bolt [15], washers [16] and clamp [14] that attach the wire for the electrical
connector [9].
(b) Remove the bolts [11], washers [12], nuts [13] and clamps [10] that attach the wire for the
electrical connector [9].
(c) Remove the bolt [22] and nut [21] that attach the link [17] to the crank [18].
(d) Remove the screws [19] that attach the flap control lever position sensor assembly [2] to
the control stand [7].

(3) Remove the flap control lever position sensor [20] from the position sensor assembly [2]:
(a) Remove the screw [27], washers [28] and nut [29] that attach the crank [18] to the shaft on
the position sensor [20].
(b) Remove the screws [25] and washers [26] that attach the position sensor [20] to the
bracket [24].
(c) Remove the flap control lever position sensor [20] from the bracket [24].
