TRAILING EDGE FLAP SYSTEM - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES
1. General
A. This procedure has these tasks for the trailing edge flap system:
(1) A task to deactivate the trailing edge flap system
(2) A task to reactivate the trailing edge flap system
(3) A task to operate the trailing edge flaps with primary control
(4) A task to operate the trailing edge flaps with alternate control
(5) A task to manually operate the trailing edge flaps without airplane power
(6) A task to extend the trailing edge flaps
(7) A task to retract the trailing edge flaps.
(8) A task to operate the trailing edge flaps with the leading edge flaps and slats retracted and
disabled.

A. General
(1) Use this task to deactivate the trailing edge flap system.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THE DOWNLOCK PINS ARE INSTALLED ON ALL THE LANDING GEAR.
WITHOUT THE DOWNLOCK PINS, THE LANDING GEAR CAN RETRACT AND CAUSE
INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(4) If the downlock pins are not installed in the nose and main landing gear, do this task: Landing
Gear Downlock Pins Installation, TASK 32-00-01-480-801.

(5) Deactivate the trailing edge flap bypass valve (Figure 202):
(a) Disconnect the electrical connector from the bypass valve.
(b) Move the manual override lever on the bypass valve to POSITION 2.
(c) Install the lock, SPL-1676 on the bypass valve.
