OUTBOARD AFT FLAP - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1) A removal of the outboard aft flap
(2) An installation of the outboard aft flap.
B. An outboard aft flap weighs approximately 50 pounds (23 kilograms).

D. Outboard Aft Flap Removal
SUBTASK 27-51-22-020-001
WARNING: SUPPORT THE AFT FLAP ASSY IN ITS POSITION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT THE RODS
[11]. THE AFT FLAP ASSY WILL MOVE AFT WHEN YOU DISCONNECT THE RODS [11].
THIS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Disconnect the aft flap assembly [2] from the rods [11]:
(a) Hold the aft flap assembly [2] so it cannot move aft when you disconnect the rods [11].
(b) Remove the pins [8], nuts [7], washers [6], washers [4], bolts [3] and bushings [5] that
attach the rods [11] to the aft flap assembly [2].
(c) Move the rods [11] down, away from the aft flap assembly [2].

(2) Remove the coverplate [22] for the outboard roller [21]:

(a) Remove the bolts [23] that attach the coverplate [22].
(b) Remove the coverplate [22] from the main flap [1].
SUBTASK 27-51-22-020-002
(3) Remove the aft flap assembly [2]:
NOTE: The aft flap weighs approximately 50 pounds (23 kilograms).
(a) Support the aft flap assembly [2].
(b) Carefully move the aft flap assembly [2] aft, until it stops.
(c) At the outboard aft flap track [13], remove the pin [35], nut [34], washer [33], washer [31],
bolt [30] and bushing [32] that attach the aft flap track [13] to the aft flap assembly [2].
